Get Real: No woman on earth is that much of a dream come true. This country has two main languages that are taught in the schools, English and Tagalog. In Cebu province you'll find most speak Cebuano. Even though most documents are in English, don't count on anyone being fluent in English. They may be able to read it reasonably well, but speaking it is foreign to most, and don't count on them understanding you as they have this strange way of pronunciation and the (correct) way you say a word is one they have probably never heard. Some one was telling me about their college moojos. I had no idea what the heck they were talking about. I asked them to spell the word, which they could. It was modules. My wife is pretty fluent in English and I still have her spell out words for me all the time. The point I'm trying to make is this: Her yes and ok may very well be about the only thing she knows how to say, and it makes you smile. After you say 'I do' you'll find her English skills improve. She will now learn how to say 'no'.
Virginity: Some of the girls in this country really do save themselves for the person who will become their husband, and they will give up their virginity readily once they know that you are 'the one'. The fact that you are a foreigner and their ticket out of poverty has a great deal to do with this. Is it 'love'? I think many Filipinas will 'love' anyone who will help them get a life. The problem is if it will last. Get to know her and know her well before you say 'I do'. Being a foreigner of some age probably means that we are not too picky about her being a virgin. Would you make that a requirement at home? This is a strange country in that all Filipinos want a virgin and if she is not a virgin they probably will not marry her. Many go down the isle pregnant and many others already have a child from there husband to be at the time of marriage, so its not like they keep their virginity until they are married, they just want to know that the person taking their virginity will marry them, as their outlook in life looks bleak if they are not a virgin. They are very much aware of the fact that foreigners are not so selective, especially older foreigners. The Filipina will want to get you to consummate your agreement to marry her very quickly, whether she is or is not a virgin. If she is a virgin consider the impact you are having on any future she may have if you don't marry her. Don't just think of these girls as trophies, your are affecting their future in your actions. Just because they may be poor doesn't make them any less a person than you. Treat them with respect. There is an ad over here that runs on TV. It features a young Filipina saying, "I am not a tourist attraction, I am a human being". Go to the KTV bars if all you are looking for is sex with a young Filipina. They give themselves for a living and some of them live very well. The moral issues are for you, your maker, and her to deal with. If you are looking for a loving wife for life stay on this site and we will help guide you away from the fraud. Read our page on fraud and we will show you how to eliminate over 95% of the girls who want you just for the lifestyle you will bring them very quickly. At least the girls in the KTV bars are honest about what they do for a living. There are many more who work foreigners for the gifts the foreigners give, both money and items. They may not ask, but if you stop giving they'll be gone. They are no different then the girls in the KTV bars as far as I am concerned.
Divorce: There is no divorce. If you were ever married here you must obtain an annulment before getting remarried. If your Filipina was ever married she also need to get an annulment. See Our Services page for help. Annulments are very common and the only way to dissolve a marriage here.
Money:
I believe that you must trust the one you marry and love, for without trust is
there really love? Most foreigners here will not buy a home as foreigners can
not own a house. They can own a condo though, as long as less than 40% of the
units are owned by foreigners. There are ways around some of these laws but the
bottom line is they do not trust their wives, and since she will own the home,
they wont purchase one. They are scared that she will give them the boot once
she has the loot. To me no trust, no love. Not marital love anyway. Before
you say those two magic words "I do" do some soul searching. Do you know her
well enough to trust her in all things? If not, do yourself a favor and do not
marry her. You find many foreigners living in pension houses and hotels. I could
do that for about two months. Many other foreigners rent. Is that providing for
the one you love. What does she get when you pass on? A gold watch? If you do
have a real mutual love for each other, you will want to give her the security
of knowing she will always have a home, even if little else after you are gone.
She probably has never known real security and this country is full of
squatters. The real danger though is that you will trust her when you don't even
know her yet. Take your time. If she loves you she is not going anywhere. Do not
get her pregnant as this country has way too many mouths that go unfed. Then
again, some want a fair skinned child even if they don't have the husband as the
fair skinned child is like a trophy.
